Handy-Jackit Test ReportIntroductionThe following is a report on a series of tests carried out by me on the Eston Handy-Jackit over the last 2 to 3 months prior to us offering the product to the market. AimsThe purpose of the tests were to establish the following: Is the Eston Handy- Jackit able to perform to expectations? Will it lift a vehicle easily and safely? Will it loosen and tighten wheel nuts correctly with little effort on the part of the user? Will it be able to perform the tasks require for many years? The TestsQ - Has it the required certificates? A - Both the Eston jack and the Eston wrench have achieved a CE certificate. This means they have complied with the stringent safety and product checks needed to sell this product in the EU. The JackQ - Will the Eston jack lift the vehicle safely? A - The Jack was tested on a small car, a medium sized car, a large family car, a estate car, and an old and heavy Rolls Royce as shown in the promotional video. In addition to that it was tested on a people carrier, a small van, a large 4 by 4 and a medium goods van. To make the test even more difficult the wheel nearest the engine (and therefore the heaviest) was lifted in each case. The test consisted of jacking the vehicle up until the wheel left the ground; the vehicle was then left in this position for 15 minutes (ample time to change a wheel). In addition to the above, the estate car, the 4 by 4 and the medium goods van were left on the jack, the plug in lead was taken out and the vehicles were left raised for one hour. After 60mins in each case the raised wheel had not moved at all, it was still positioned exactly as when the test was started. The WrenchQ - Will the Eston wrench break the tension on the wheel nuts easily and will it tighten them up sufficiently? A - On all the vehicles the wrench cracked all the wheel nut tensions easily and tightened them up safely and correctly. It is as simple as shown on the instructional video. When the wrench had tightened the wheel nuts up with the required 4 clicks I tried to tighten them further with a conventional wheel brace and could not. Q - Will the Eston Handy-Jackit give long life and service? A - I have used the same Eston Handy-Jackit at least 100 times in demonstrations and tests without any problems whatsoever. Please bear in mind that this is an emergency kit for use when you have a flat tyre or perhaps if you want to fit snow chains in bad weather. Most people will hopefully never need to use it anything like that amount of times in their life. Test conclusionsThe jack will lift a single wheel on any car or small van on the road today. It will lift it safely and easily without draining the battery and once lifted the wheel will remain in that position without lowering. The electric wrench will crack the tension on and tighten up wheel nuts perfectly safely. The Eston Handy Jackit is a safe, convenient and very useful tool to have in your boot. It will be your best friend in an emergency and you will be very pleased to have it when you need it. It will perform as it should, otherwise I would not put my name on it. Regards Patrick Eston |
